Yangon-Mawlamyaing-Hpa An-Yangon

Day 1    Yangon – Mawlamyine (Overland)
Early morning pickup from your hotel and fullday drive to Mawlamyine (Moulmein), through seemingly endless rice fields. Lunch at a very local restaurant in Pa-An.
In the afternoon, visit the Sa Dan Cave. This cave has a length of 2260 feet with many stalactites / stalagmites and a natural lake at the end of the cave. Also visit the Kaw Koon Cave where Buddha figures are carved out of the wall of the cave. Drive to Mawlamyaing, where you will arrive late afternoon. Dinner at Chinese Restaurant or Hotel.  Accommodation at hotel, Mawlamyaing.

Day 2    Mawlamyine
Breakfast at Hotel. This morning, we visit the market and stroll through the centre of the town. Later, we take a small boat across to “Shampoo Island” (Gaungse – “Head-Wash” – Kyun), just across the river from the hotel.  Its name dates back to the AVA period when the water for the yearly royal hair washing ceremony came from a source of this island.  Return to the city and make photo stops at some interesting old colonial houses, a mosque and Christian church. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Mahamuni Pagoda, built in typical Mon style, with covered walkways linking the various square shrine buildings.  Visit also Kyaiktanlan Pagoda, the tallest in the city, from where views over the harbour and out across the River are beautiful at sunset.  Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at Hotel Mawlamyine.

Day 3    Mawlamyine – Hpa An
Morning take a boat trip to Hpa-An(±4h). upon reaching Hpa An , visit  KyaukKalat and Mt ZweKabin, whose foothills are lined with thousands of identical Buddha statues and the ‘Cave of Ten Thousand Buddhas’, then visit to  Bayinnyi Cave and hot spring. Stroll along the typical Karen villages in the evening. Accommodation at Hotel

Day 4    Hpa An – Yangon
Drive back to Yangon along the way enjoy the beautiful view of the paddies field and rubber cultivation. Visit Bago on the way, the busy city and market, Shwemawdaw Pagoda and great reclining Buddha, KyaikkhatWyne Monestery, Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha (55 meters long) and Kanbawzathardi Palace of King Bayinnaung. Short excursion to Taukkyan War Cemetery (a memorial to Allied soldiers from the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. Arrive Yangon in the evening. Accommodation at Hotel
